Garden Party Inspired Transitional Rosh Hashanah Table-Scape Ideas
In the nearly 20 years that I’ve been setting my own Rosh Hashanah table, the theme has been basically the same: fall colors of maroon and gold, lot’s of apples, and a mix of wood and ceramic materials. But since returning to Atlanta, I’ve hit a conundrum: with the temps still in the 80s and 90s pretty much every Rosh Hashanah, I’m far from ready to embrace the fall vibes. So this year, I’m creating a new image of Rosh Hashanah that transitions me more gently from florals and garden parties into the next season. I put together 4 collections of ideas, each with a bit of traditionalism, but not taking itself too seriously. Any of these could go with your grandmother’s china or disposables, as you choose, and hopefully all of them will push you to push the box a little further for your next family gathering.
This one just screams French bistro to me! I saw these plates at Anthropologie and knew I wanted to build a Rosh Hashanah table idea around them.

Ok, I love that this one is traditional and colorful and a little bit globally-inspired too. It feels just vintage and grandmother-ey enough for my flavor, but hopefully in a fresh way!

Ok, I know I said no burgundy, but this is the vibe I’ve always gone with, and even if I need a change, I don’t hate it! It brings all the fall, homemade, and picnic feels so if it’s right for you, great! Sadly, the “Shana tova” plate for English speakers seems to be sold out at the moment, so I linked a similar one in Hebrew for y’all!
