Cottage Garden Inspiration from the North Carolina Mountains

We just came back from our annual trip to the North Carolina mountains (near Boone) and I gathered so much cottage & woodland garden inspiration for y’all! Most of these do best in sun-part shade, but the hosts can handle a bit more shade. This is my favorite style, and luckily, lots of these species do well in (and some are native to) my area (zone 7b, with clay soil).
